The Buffalo Theatre District in downtown Buffalo, New York is the center of Buffalo's theater scene that draws Broadway shows that are in preview stage or on tour and is bounded roughly by Washington, Tupper, Pearl and Chippewa Streets. Architect and Professor Alfred Price worked on a master plan for the Buffalo Theatre District.
In 1980, in accordance with the area's land development terms, 25 percent of the net profits from District were returned to a Buffalo nonprofit corporation for further development of the District.
From the late 1970s through 2004, the District received about $60 million from government to restore it and finance development. The district contains a number of theaters, including:
