Buffalo Lake is a city in Renville County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 733 at the 2010 census.

Buffalo Lake was platted in 1881, and named after a nearby lake. A post office has been in operation at Buffalo Lake since 1882.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.68 square miles (1.76 km2), all of it land.

U.S. Route 212 serves as a main route in the city.

As of the census of 2010, there were 733 people, 288 households, and 176 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,077.9 inhabitants per square mile (416.2/km2). There were 327 housing units at an average density of 480.9 per square mile (185.7/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 93.2% White, 0.3% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.8% Asian, 3.7% from other races, and 1.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.3% of the population.

There were 288 households of which 31.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.3% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 38.9% were non-families. 34.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
