The British International School of Kuala Lumpur (or BSKL) provides contemporary British international education from Early Years to Sixth form, to children aged 2 - 18 years, in its state-of-the-art campus in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.
BSKL follows the English National Curriculum, enhanced to meet international and local requirements, offering a robust IGCSE and A Level programme.
BSKL is a fully licensed international school, approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Education, with the following additional accreditations: Council of British International Schools (COBIS), Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA), University of Cambridge International Examinations, and Edexcel.
A recent inspection from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), graded BSKL "excellent" in all areas of provision.
BSKL has also become the first school in Asia to receive the COBIS Patron's Accreditation.
The British International School of Kuala Lumpur is part of The British Schools Foundation (BSF), a UK registered non-profit organisation and a leading international school group with ten schools across 8 countries and 3 continents. Its principal function is the governance of member schools in accordance with the BSF School Charter.
The Headteacher of BSKL, Janet Brock, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, and reports to the Board of Governors at BSF.
The Board ensures the highest standards are met in all aspects of school life including academic performance, employment practices, quality of facilities and the promotion of general well-being within the BSKL community. Decisions are academically driven whilst prioritising the well-being of both students and staff.
The school is located near a popular expatriate area of Kuala Lumpur, and operates a safe and efficient bus service for the convenience of students and parents. All buses are modern, clean and in accordance with our bus policy, including seat-belts and medical kits.
The school started classes at a temporary facility in 2009 in Bandar Utama, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur. Due to demand a permanent campus was completed in 2011. A second campus adjacent to the current one was completed in 2013, and in 2016 the school opened an additional campus for Secondary and Sixth Form students.
