Bishnugarh, also known as Bishungarh, is a community development block that forms an administrative division in the Hazaribagh Sadar subdivision of Hazaribagh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. A center for brassware was or is planning to be established here since at least 20 July 2009.
Bishnugarh is located at 24°00′55″N 85°45′09″E / 24.0153°N 85.7524°E. It has an average elevation of 508 metres (1,667 ft).
As per 2011 Census of India Bishnugarh CD Block had a total population of 156,477, of which 146,351 were rural 10,126 were urban. There were 79,009 males and 77,468 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 17,254 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 15,685.
Bishnugarh CD Block covers two census towns – Bishnugarh and Cherra.
As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Bishnugarh CD Block was 80,053 out of which 49,276 were males and 30,777 were females.
