2015 was the seventh year in the history of Bellator MMA, a mixed martial arts promotion based in the United States. This year marked the first time Bellator MMA did monthly shows as opposed to a seasonal format.

In June 2014, Bellator MMA underwent significant change in their executive ranks. Founder and CEO Bjorn Rebney parted with the company. Former Strikeforce founder Scott Coker was announced as the new President of Bellator MMA. As a result of the changes, it was announced that Bellator MMA would drop the weekly, seasonal format in 2015 and instead focus on larger, individual events per month.

Bellator 132: Pitbull vs. Straus 2 took place January 16, 2015 at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California. The event aired live in prime time on Spike TV.

Background

Bellator 132 was headlined by a Featherweight Championship rematch between Patricio "Pitbull" Freire and Daniel Mason-Straus. The two originally met in a closely contested fight at Bellator 45 on May 21, 2011, with Freire winning the bout via unanimous decision.
