Barview is a census-designated place (CDP) in Coos County, Oregon, United States. The population was 1,844 at the 2010 census.
Barview is located along the southern Oregon Coast opposite the entrance to Coos Bay. It is 7 miles (11 km) west of the city of Coos Bay via the Cape Arago Highway.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the Barview CDP has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.6 km2), of which 1.4 square miles (3.6 km2) is land and 0.39 square miles (1.0 km2), or 22.89%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,872 people, 760 households, and 525 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,345.8 people per square mile (520.0/km²). There were 842 housing units at an average density of 605.3 per square mile (233.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.83% White, 0.21% African American, 3.26% Native American, 1.44% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.59% from other races, and 2.62% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.99% of the population. There were 760 households out of which 24.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% were married couples living together, 9.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.8% were non-families. 23.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 2.82.
