Baruipur Purba (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is an assembly constituency in South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is reserved for scheduled castes.

As per orders of the Delimitation Commission, No. 137 Baruipur Purba (Vidhan Sabha constituency) (SC) is composed of the following: Bamangachhi, Chaltaberia, Dhosa Chandaneswar, Jangalia, Khakurdaha and Narayanitala gram panchayats of Jaynagar community development block and Begumpur, Belegachhi, Brindakhali, Champahati, Hardhah, Nabagram, Ramnagar I, Ramnagar II and South Garia gram panchayats of Baruipur community development block.

Baruipur Purba (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 22 Jadavpur (Lok Sabha constituency).

In 2011 Nirmal Mondal of Trinamool Congress defeated his nearest rival Bimal Mistry of CPI(M).

Up to 2006 Baruipur had a single seat. It was an open seat during the period. In the 2006 state assembly elections,Rahul Ghosh of CPI(M) won the Baruipur assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Arup Bhadra of Trinamool Congress. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned.Dr. Sujan Chakraborty of CPIM defeated Arup Bhadra of Trinamool Congress In 1998 bye election.Arup Bhadra of Trinamool Congress defeated Dr. Sujan Chakraborty of CPI(M) by 5 votes in 2001.Sovandeb Chattopadhyay of Congress defeated Dr. Sujan Chakraborty of CPI(M) in 1996and Hemen Mojumdar of CPI(M) in 1991.Hemen Mojumdar of CPI(M) defeated Arup Bhadra of Congress in 1987,Jalil Gazi of Congress in 1982and Ram Kanta Mondal of Congress in 1977.
