Baldur Brönnimann, is a Swiss conductor.
Brönnimann was born in Switzerland, studied at the Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel and was a Junior Fellow in Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Guest conducting engagements have included Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Northern Sinfonia, London Sinfonietta, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Brönnimann is committed to contemporary music and has championed the music of composers such as Harrison Birtwistle, Brett Dean, Unsuk Chin, Thomas Ades, John Adams and Jonathan Harvey.
