The BLAST network is a plan for a high-capacity transit system in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada consisting of two bus rapid transit lines and three light rail lines. It was conceived as part of the city's 2007 transportation master plan. It was later incorporated by Metrolinx as part of its regional transportation plan, The Big Move. The two light rail lines, B-Line and A-Line, are among the plan's prioritized transit expansion projects and was confirmed funding in May 2015 by the Government of Ontario.
The B-line and A-line are expected to use Flexity Freedom light rail cars built by Bombardier Transportation. The same cars are expected to be used on the Eglinton Crosstown line in Toronto and the Ion rapid transit in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
