Avanthan Manithan (He is the man) is a 1975 Indian Tamil language film, directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Jayalalithaa, R. Muthuraman and Cho in lead roles. The film had musical score by M. S. Viswanathan. The film was a remake of Blockbuster Kannada film Kasturi Nivasa.
The story written by G. Balasubramanium had been bought by film producer Noor wanting to make a film in Tamil based on the story and wanted Sivaji Ganesan to star in it. However, Ganesan was reluctant, after hearing the story, considering that the film had a tragic ending with the protagonist dying. The story was then made in Kannada as Kasturi Nivasa with Dr. Rajkumar in lead role. After the film's success, Sivaji bought the remake rights for ₹ 2,00,000 to remake the film in Tamil.
The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan.
