As Hortas (older spelling: Ás Hortas) is a settlement in the northwestern part of the island of Fogo, Cape Verde. It is situated near the coast, 8 km northeast of the island capital São Filipe. It is situated between the streams of Ribeiras Tortolho and Grande do Fogo. The settlement is on the main road connecting São Filipe and Mosteiros in the northeast. Nearby places include Achada Mentirosa hundres of meters to the north and Monte Tabor to the west linked by a smaller road and Curral Grande to the east.
The place name etymology is that the area are dominated by bushes and some forest.
Agriculture is the main industry.
The football (soccer) club Valência is based in the settlement and is the club of the parish and the north of the municipality, it is also based in the island capital. Their matches are played at Estádio 5 de Julho south in the island capital. The club was founded in 2009.
