Angel Angelov Genchev (Bulgarian: Ангел Ангелов Генчев ) is a Bulgarian weightlifter who competed for Bulgaria. He won the Gold medal in Weightlifting at the 1988 Summer Olympics – Men's 67.5 kg but was disqualified after he tested positive for furosemide after a dope test. It became a scandal as earlier Bulgarian weightlifter Mitko Grablev who also won the Gold Medal in weightlifting had also been disqualified for taking furosemide and the Bulgarian weightlifting team withdrew midway from the Weightlifting competition.
