Andrew "Andy" Penn, FCCA, MBA is a English Australian businessman and current CEO of Telstra, an Australian telecommunications and media company.
Penn was born in the United Kingdom. He holds an MBA from Kingston University, and a FCCA from Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program. Penn moved to Australia in 1992.
From 1990 to 2011, Andy worked for National Mutual which later merged with AXA Asia Pacific, in the end as its CEO. In 2005, Andy Penn was one of seven directors of the AXA employee superannuation trust who were disqualified from acting as a company director by APRA, but this ruling was overturned on appeal.
After taking a 12-month break during 2011, Thodey hired Penn as Telstra's CFO. In February 2015, Andy Penn was named successor to David Thodey as CEO of Telstra, from 1 May 2015.
His first year as Telstra CEO was not fortuitous.
