Andrew Peter Wypych (born December 5, 1954) is a Polish-born prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He currently serves as an Auxiliary Bishop and Episcopal Vicar of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Wypych was born in Kazimierza Wielka, Poland, and attended elementary and secondary schools there. He attended seminary in Kraków, Poland, graduating with his Masters in Theology.
He was ordained April 29, 1979 for the Archdiocese of Kraków, Poland and served as an associate pastor there from 1979 to 1983, the year he came to the United States and petitioned for incardination in the Archdiocese of Chicago. He was incardinated in 1989.
In the Archdiocese of Chicago, Wypych served as associate pastor, Five Holy Martyrs Parish ( April 10, 1983 – December 1, 1983); associate pastor, St. Giles Parish ( December 1, 1983 – 1985); associate pastor, St. Ladislaus Parish (January 5, 1985-July 1986); associate pastor, parochial administrator and pastor of St. Pancratius Parish (July 1986-April 30, 2002); pastor, Five Holy Martyrs Parish (October 29, 1996 – October 4, 1999) and pastor, St. Francis Borgia Parish ( May 1, 2002 – July 31, 2011).
Wypych served as Dean of Deanery IV-D (July 1, 2007 – August 10, 2011) and was a member of the Archdiocesan College of Consultors (January 1, 2010 – June 13, 2011).
On June 13, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI named Wypych an Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago and Titular Bishop of Naraggara. He received his episcopal consecration on August 10, 2011, from Cardinal Francis George, OMI, with Bishop Józek Guzdek and Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, M.Sp.S. as co-consecrators. As an auxiliary bishop, Wypych also serves as Episcopal Vicar for Vicariate V.
