AnadoluJet is a Turkish regional airline headquartered in Ankara. It is a fully owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines and operates domestic flights within Turkey and to Northern Cyprus.
The airline was founded in 23 April 2008 as a new subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. By establishing AnadoluJet, it was aimed connecting Anatolia to Ankara, simplifying additional services offered Turkish Airlines’passengers, and reflecting cost advantage of economic class configuration to ticket prices. In this way, airport transportation was provided to more wider population and air travel became more attractive with reflecting cost advantage to ticket prices. The surface area of time travels by road and rail in large countries such as Turkey is quite long. AnadoluJet, providing the opportunity to realize the long-distance travels of the Anatolian people more intensively and thus passengers will travel by air is intended to provide a huge time saver. Domestic tourism activities from continuing Esenboga İnternational Airport and Sabiha Gokcen Airport, on the other hand, is contributing to the development of trade relations in general in Anatolia.
On 4 September 2008, the airline started international flights connecting Hatay and Ercan International Airport.
Number of passengers increased 65% in Ankara routes, load factor reached the level of 85%. Starting operation with 5 airplanes, AnadoluJet achieved; 8 airplane fleet in its first year and 16 airplane fleet in the middle of 2010. AnadoluJet which currently flies to 42 points in Anatolia, is managed by THY A.O. Chairman of Regional Flights Said Şamil Karakaş and his team. AnadoluJet Turkish Airlines is a sub-brand, the codes used for flight numbers are prefixed with TK 7000 and above. Example: Izmir –a flight number for Ankara would be TK 7005.
