Ambar Khirid Roy pronunciation (5 June 1945, Kolkata, Bengal – 19 September 1997, Kolkata) was an Indian cricketer who played in 4 Tests in 1969.
His short, but eventful test career started with a bang. In Oct. 1969, in his very first Test innings he blasted 48 against NZ, at Nagpur. His knock included 10 hits to the fence. Unfortunately, he failed to follow up this success, and after failures against the Aussies at Delhi & Kolkata, later in the season, he was dropped. In his final test match, at his home ground Kolkata, he got starts in each innings. But on each occasion, he failed to convert the start into a sizeable score. He scored 18 & 19 in the match.
