Amagaon is a village in Belgaum district in the southern state of Karnataka, India. Amagaon nestles in the dense forests of the Western Ghats in the Khanapur taluk of Belgaum district and is known for its heavy rainfall. It is known to get over 10,000 mm annual rainfall occasionally and the average annual rainfall is around 9000 mm. The surroundings of the village located in the Bhimgad Wildlife Sanctuary which has been declared as protected area for its medicinal plants. It is also called as Cherrapunji of South India

Amagaon in Khanapur taluk of Belgaum district has reached the magical figure of 10,000 mm annual rainfall twice in the last six years (2006–11). Thrice in the last six year (2006–11), Amgaon has received more rain than Agumbe and Hulikal.
