Alvarado is a city situated along the Snake River in Marshall County in the State of Minnesota. The population was 363 at the 2010 census.
Minnesota Highway 1 and Minnesota Highway 220 are two of the main arterial routes in the community.
A post office called Alvarado has been in operation since 1905. The city was named, directly or indirectly, after Alvarado, in Mexico.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.22 square miles (0.57 km2), all of it land.
