Alto is a town in Banks and Habersham counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the town had a population of 1,172, up from 876 at the 2000 census.

Alto is located at 34°28′0″N 83°34′26″W / 34.46667°N 83.57389°W / 34.46667; -83.57389 (34.466531, -83.573820).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.9 km2), all land.
