Alexander is a city in Franklin County, Iowa, United States. The population was 175 at the 2010 census.
Alexander is the hometown of Iowa Congressman Tom Latham.
Alexander was platted in 1885, not long after the Central Railroad of Iowa had been built through the territory.

The racial makeup of the city was 96.0% White, 0.6% Native American, 1.7% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.9% of the population.

The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 2.88.
