Alessandra Scala

Alessandra Scala (1475–1506) was an Italian poet and a Greek scholar.

She was born in 1475, the fifth daughter of the chancellor of Florence, Bartolomeo Scala. In 1494 she married Greek poet and soldier Michael Tarchaniota Marullus (1458 – 1500), six years later Marullus died, Scala then entered the Florentine convent of San Pier Maggiore. She died there in 1506.
