Alden is a city in Hardin County, Iowa, United States. The population was 787 at the 2010 census.
Alden was laid out in 1855. It was named for its founder, Henry Alden, a native of Massachusetts.

There were 368 housing units at an average density of 215.2 per square mile (83.1/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 97.5% White, 0.5% African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.3% Asian, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.1% of the population.
There were 338 households of which 28.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.6% were married couples living together, 5.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 36.7% were non-families. 31.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
