Alangudi is a panchayat town as well as Taluka in Pudukkottai district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.
Alangudi is located at 10°22′N 78°59′E / 10.37°N 78.98°E. It has an average elevation of 79 metres (259 feet).
As of 2001[update] India census, Alangudi had a population of 10,742. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%.
