Air India Regional is an Indian airline which was started as a low-cost arm of Indian Airlines as Alliance Air. As part of Indian's merger with Air India, it was renamed Air India Regional. It operates 170 weekly flights to 42 domestic destinations as a subsidiary of Air India.
Air India Regional was established as Alliance Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Airlines on 1 April 1996 and started operations on 21 June 1996. It was renamed Air India Regional after the merger between Air India and Indian Airlines
As of January 2017[update], Air India Regional flies to 35 destinations in India. It operates hubs in Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.
