Adam Bornstein is an award-winning fitness and nutrition writer and editor. Formerly the editorial director for Livestrong.com and fitness editor for Men’s Health, he has contributed to and been featured in The New York Times, Fast Company and GQ. He is the founder and CEO of Born Fitness and Pen Name Consulting.

Bornstein attended the University of Colorado and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in psychology. After two years of post-graduate psychology research, Bornstein realized he wanted to be a writer and enrolled in the journalism graduate program at the University of Florida. Encouraged and inspired by the head of the journalism department, senior editor of Men’s Health Ted Spiker, Bornstein focused his classes and master’s thesis on health and fitness writing.

Bornstein began his career as the fitness editor for Men’s Health in 2008. In 2011, Demand Media hired Bornstein and appointed him editorial director for Livestrong.com. Bornstein moved from Pennsylvania to Santa Monica to work for the publication. In 2012, Livestrong.com won a Webby award for “Best Health Website.” Bornstein is credited with increasing Livestrong.com’s traffic by 300% in an 18-month period.

Bornstein is the author of seven books, including Man 2.0 – Engineering the Alpha (HarperCollins), which debuted on the New York Times best seller list.

Today, Bornstein runs two companies and continues to write in the health and fitness sphere, including a column for Muscle & Fitness. He serves as a fitness advisor for Schwarzenegger.com and teaches at the University of Florida. Bornstein is the founder and CEO of Born Fitness and Pen Name Consulting. Born Fitness is an online fitness and nutrition coaching platform, while Pen Name Consulting is a firm specializing in advising and branding services for companies like Microsoft, Dollar Shave Club and Beachbody.
