Abul Hayat is a Bangladeshi actor. He is also a writer and a civil engineer. He got National Film Award in best supporting actor category in 2007 and was awarded Ekushey Padak for his writing in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh.
Hayat got his B.Sc. Engineering degree from Department of Civil Engineering of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Hayat was an executive engineer of Dhaka WASA. He has acted in over 1000 television dramas. His first acted TV drama was Oedipus in 1969.
As of February 2015, Hayat has written 23 books in total. He wrote his first book Trishnar Shanti in 1989.
Hayat's two daughters, Bipasha Hayat and Natasha Hayat, are actresses. His son-in-law Toukir Ahmed is an actor too.
