The Abou Maya Island is located in the far west of the Gulf of Tadjoura and Ghoubbet-el-Kharab, just off the coast of Djibouti. The weather in Abou Maya is warm and humid, although, compared to the place in the Gulf of Tadjoura, Abou Maya has a better climate. The waters around Larak Island are one of the most diverse coral reef areas in the environment of the Gulf of Tadjoura.
