A. Veeriya Vandayar Memorial Sri Pushpam College is an arts and sciences autonomous college in Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1956, it offers higher education in arts, science and technology.
Rao Bahadur A. Veeriya Vandayar, after visiting European countries, desired to develop education in his rural area. With his brother A. Krishnasamy Vandayar he started Sri Pushpam College in 1956 with 106 students and 10 teachers. It was renamed in 1972 as A. Veeriya Vandayar Memorial Sri Pushpam College in memory of its founder/president.
The college is in Poondi, 12 km from Thanjavur on the way to Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu state in India on the National Highway 74. The college is linked by buses and trains from Thanjavur. It is in sylvan surroundings of 82 acres (330,000 m2).
The college has been accredited with four star status by the NAAC It has been re-accredited with Grade 'A' status by the NAAC It became autonomous 21 years ago.
