The 6th Regiment Iowa Volunteer Infantry was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.

The 6th Iowa Infantry was organized at Burlington, Iowa and mustered into Federal forces on July 17, 1861.

The regiment was mustered out on July 21, 1865.

Unit strength was 1221. The regiment lost 8 officers and 144 enlisted men who were killed in action or who died of their wounds and 2 officers and 126 enlisted men who died of disease, for a total of 280 fatalities. 353 were wounded.
