The women's 1500 metres at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics was held at the London Olympic Stadium on 4−5 and 7 August.
In the final Laura Muir (Great Britain) made the early pace, being passed by Faith Kipyegon (Kenya) after 800 metres, who was in turn passed by Sifan Hassan (Netherlands) who lead until the final straight, when Kipyegon regained the lead. Jennifer Simpson (United States) and Caster Semenya (South Africa) finished quickly for silver and bronze.
