The 2017 Idaho Vandals football team will represent University of Idaho in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Vandals will play their home games at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho, and will compete in the Sun Belt Conference. They will be led by fifth year head coach Paul Petrino. This will be the Vandals' final year in the Sun Belt and the FBS, as the team will join its main conference, the Big Sky Conference, in FCS in 2018.

Idaho announced its 2017 football schedule on March 1, 2017. The 2017 schedule consists of 6 home and away games in the regular season. The Vandals will host Sun Belt foes Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana–Lafayette, and Louisiana–Monroe, and will travel to Georgia State, New Mexico State, South Alabama, and Troy

The Vandals will host two of the four non-conference opponents, Sacramento State from the Big Sky Conference and Rebels from the Mountain West Conference, and will travel to Missouri from the Southeastern Conference and Western Michigan from the Mid-American Conference.
