The 2017 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women is the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Women. Originally slated to be held at Hyderabad, the tournament venue was moved and now will be held at Bengaluru, India from October 22 to 28.
For the first time, the championship will feature eight teams in Division A and six teams in Division B. Teams from Australia and New Zealand will join the semifinalists and the qualifying round winners of the 2015 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women. Meanwhile, the hosts will head to Division B along with five other teams.
Included are the FIBA World Rankings prior to the draw.
