The 2016 Louisville Cardinals football team represents the University of Louisville in the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cardinals are led by third-year head coach Bobby Petrino, who began his second stint at Louisville in 2014 after eight years away. The team plays their home games at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. The Cardinals compete as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
