These are competitions organised by Intercommunal Football Association of Murska Sobota (MNZ Murska Sobota) who is one of the nine Intercommunal Football Associations that are responsible for competitions below Slovenian Third League in the Slovenian football league system.

1. MNL is a fourth tier competition in Slovenian football pyramid. The league began on 20 August 2016 and will end in June 2017.

A total of twelve teams will contest the league including nine from the 2015–16 season, two promoted from the fifth tier in the 2015–16 season and one relegated team from the 2015–16 East division of the Third League. Cven won promotion to the fourth tier as the winners of the fifth tier in the previous season. Šalovci won promotion finishing third. The team Mura Veterani finished as the runners-up, but were ineligible for promotion. They replaced relegated Tišina and Pušča.

MNZ Murska Sobota has not yet confirmed if the team that will finish as runner-up will play a two legged promotional play-off with the runner-up from MNZ Lendava.

If the two relegated teams from the 2016–17 Slovenian Third League (East division) are both members of MNZ Murska Sobota then the team who will finish 10th will also relegate to the fifth tier.
