The 2014 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship was the 120th staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment in by the Kilkenny County Board in 1887. The championship began on 11 October 2014 and ended on 16 November 2014.
Clara were the defending champions.Tullaroan were relegated from the championship. Ballyhale Shamrocks won the championship following a 1-20 to 1-13 defeat of Clara.
All but one of the twelve teams from the 2013 championship will participate in the top tier of Kilkenny hurling in 2014.
Rower-Inistioge, who defeated Emeralds by 2-13 to 2-11 in the final of the intermediate championship in 2013, availed of their right to automatic promotion to the senior championship.
Similarly, Fenians defeated Graigue-Ballycallan by 0-18 to 1-14 in the 2013 senior relegation play-off, and so Graigue-Ballycallan were relegated to the intermediate grade for 2014.
