The 2011–12 season of the Eredivisie is the fifth season of the Netherlands' women's football top level league. Reigning champions are Twente.

After the previous season initially three teams announced not to return to the Eredivisie for another season. The clubs are AZ,Willem II and FC Utrecht, they will stop due to financial reasons. Utrecht later changed the decision and will remain one of the Eredivisie teams in 2011/12. On 27 May 2011 it was announced that Telstar joins the league. So the season will consist of seven clubs.

Before the season the BeNe Super Cup was played, in that the Dutch champion FC Twente met Belgian champion Standard Liège. Twente lost the match 4–1. In sight of the cup a memorandum was signed by the Dutch and Belgian Football association to create an intercountry top-level league to start as early as 2012–13.

ADO Den Haag won the Eredivisie championship for the first time after finishing runners-up in the three previous seasons.

The seven teams play each other three times. Once away, once home and a third leg either away or home determined on a lottery-system before the season. The champion will qualify to the UEFA Women's Champions League. There still will be no relegation system in place.
