The 2003-04 Memphis Grizzlies season was the ninth being an NBA team and the third being in Memphis. It was also the final season playing their home games at the Pyramid Arena they moved into FedExFourm the next season. Their first game was against the Boston Celtics on October 31, 2003. The Grizzlies lost 91–93. Their next game was an away game against the Houston Rockets on November 1, 2003. The Grizzlies got their first win with a score of 79–71. Holding a 9–8 record in early December, the Grizzlies acquired Bonzi Wells from the Portland Trail Blazers. They made the playoffs for the first time in their franchise history, after finishing 4th in the NBA Midwest Division with a 50–32 record. However, the Grizzlies lost in the first round of the playoffs after losing four games straight against the San Antonio Spurs.
