The 1st Regiment, Tennessee Infantry was an infantry regiment from Tennessee that served in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. The Regiment was mustered on May 2, 1861 as a volunteer infantry regiment. George Maney, who commanded the Rock City Guards battalion that became companies A, B and C, became the regimental Colonel for the first 90 days. Afterwards, command of the regiment went to Hume Feild.Sam Davis joined the regiment as a scout, but was executed as a spy by Union forces after being captured in his makeshift uniform.
