New Jersey's 19th Legislative District is one of 40 in the New Jersey Legislature. As of the 2011 apportionment, the district includes the Middlesex County municipalities of Carteret Borough, Perth Amboy City, Sayreville Borough, South Amboy City and Woodbridge Township.
As of the 2010 United States Census, the district had a population of 224,578, of whom 171,915 (76.6%) were of voting age. The racial makeup of the district was 132,142 (58.8%) White, 23,516 (10.5%) African American, 1,071 (0.5%) Native American, 34,762 (15.5%) Asian, 96 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 25,194 (11.2%) from some other race, and 7,797 (3.5%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 68,729 (30.6%) of the population. The district had 137,195 registered voters as of December 31, 2016, of whom 64,302 (46.9%) were registered as unaffiliated, 57,100 (41.6%) were registered as Democrats, 15,279 (11.1%) were registered as Republicans, and 514 (0.4%) were registered to other parties.
