The 1995 St. Louis Rams season was the team's 58th year with the National Football League (NFL) and the first of 21 seasons in St. Louis.
The Rams roared to a 5–1 start to the season (including wins in their first four games), before losing eight of their final 10 games. According to statistics site Football Outsiders, the Rams had the 5th best team in the league, in terms of statistical average; at the end of the season, they were ranked 27th out of 30 teams (including two expansion teams). Football Outsiders stated that apparently "the only reason for this flop is that the Rams' 44–10 [Week 8] loss to San Francisco at home in Week 8 sunk them into a deep psychological depression. What, the Rams front office couldn't afford a sports psychologist?"
