John McEnroe defeated Chris Lewis 6–2, 6–2, 6–2 in the final to win the Gentlemen's Singles tennis title at the 1983 Wimbledon Championships.
Defending champion Jimmy Connors was the No. 1 seed, but was upset in the fourth round by 12th seeded Kevin Curren.
This was also the first Grand Slam that featured future World No. 1 and six-time major champion Stefan Edberg in the main draw.
