Björn Borg defeated Ilie Năstase 6–4, 6–2, 9–7 in the final to win the Gentlemen's Singles tennis title at the 1976 Wimbledon Championships. He remains the only man till date in the Open Era to win a Wimbledon without dropping a set and the only one to do it in two different slams(French Open and Wimbledon).
