The 1965 California Angels season involved the Angels finishing 7th in the American League with a record of 75 wins and 87 losses, putting them 27 games behind the AL Champion Minnesota Twins. It was also the final season for the franchise in the city of Los Angeles before moving to their new stadium in nearby Anaheim for the following season.

The 1965 Angels are the only team in recent Major League Baseball history to undergo an in-season name change. The club began the season under its original name, the Los Angeles Angels, but with the imminent move to Anaheim, owner Gene Autry changed the name of the team to the California Angels — effective immediately — on September 2, 1965.
