San Francisco State competed in the Far Western Conference (FWC). The Gators were led by 5th-year head coach Joe Verducci. They played home games at Cox Stadium in San Francisco, California. The team finished the season as champion of the FWC, with a record of eight wins and two losses (8–2, 5–0 FWC). For the season the team outscored its opponents 253–120.
