The 1940 Cal Aggies football team represented the Northern Branch of the College of Agriculture in the 1940 college football season. The team was known as either the Cal Aggies or California Aggies, and competed in the Far Western Conference (FWC).
The Aggies were led by fourth-year head coach Vern Hickey. They played home games at A Street field on campus in Davis, California. The Aggies finished with a record of four wins, four losses and one tie (4–4–1, 2–1 FWC). The Aggies outscored their opponents 120–81 for the 1940 season.
No Cal Aggies players were selected in the 1941 NFL Draft.
