1927 English cricket season
1926
1928

Five years before Bodyline, top of the averages in the 1927 English cricket season were Douglas Jardine and Harold Larwood. The season is notable for being the last one to date in which there was no Test series, apart from the years of World War II and 1970 (when the abandoned South African tour was replaced by five matches between England and the Rest of the World).

The 1927 County Championship was won by Lancashire County Cricket Club for a second successive year.

Douglas Jardine topped the averages with 1002 runs @ 91.09

Harold Larwood topped the averages with 100 wickets @ 16.95
