Émile Gaudreault


Émile Gaudreault (born 1964 in Jonquière, Quebec) is a Canadian film director and screenwriter,

Gaudreault studied media arts and technologies before going to work as a performer and writer for the Quebec comedy troupe Le Groupe Sanguine. He hit the ground running in movies with Louis 19, King of the Airwaves, which he co-wrote. It won the Golden Reel Award for top-grossing Canadian film in 1994. He has since written and directed two more Golden Reel winners, Nuit de noces in 2002 and De père en flic in 2010. His other credits include Mambo Italiano and Surviving My Mother. He is openly gay.
