Ratatype is a typing website.

Ratatype is an English typing tutor, that has a QWERTY keyboard layout and measured typing speed in WPM (words per minute). Ratatype's Friends area is specially developed to track progress and compare standings and certification results with Facebook friends, making it easy and productive to learn touch typing with the help of friends.

The main audience of Ratatype users are the desktop users. A big part of Ratatype users are from USA, India, Canada, UK. Ratatype's design ethos is apparent in the vivid colors, smooth typography, and illustrations that were handcrafted by the creator of Twitter's original bird logo.

Ratatype was launched on July 9, 2013, as the social online typing tutor to fix a gaping lack of good design and fun in the world of typing tutors. On December 2013 Ratatype team make a research about Average Typing Speed. This research was useful not only for Ratataype users but also for other users of resources, that have used this material.

On March 2016 Ratatype announced the biggest update since Ratatype was started — groups on Ratatype.

1. Ratatype includes 15 lessons of varying difficulty. Each lesson is designed to develop different fingerprinting skills. Lesson's difficulty increases gradually. Each lesson contains several exercises. The user has guided exercises one after the other. The user can't skip any exercise.
