"Your Love Is King" is a song by English band Sade from their debut album, Diamond Life (1984). It was released as the album's lead single in the UK on February 25, 1984 and on June 22, 1985 as the album's third and final US single. The song became the group's highest-charting hit to-date on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number-six. The B-sides of the 12" single would be used on cassette versions of Diamond Life, with the extended "Smooth Operator/Snake Bite" replacing the original.
Lyrically, "Your Love is King" describes a love that is so deep and beautiful that the narrator can not get enough and said love comes before all else in life, as exemplified by the lyrics "touching the very part of me/it's making my soul sing/I'm crying out for more/your love is king."
English pop singer Will Young produced a cover song of the single in 2004 for the soundtrack, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.
