You and I is Soul/R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass' 13th and final studio album, released on April 15, 1997, on Wind-Up records. The album peaked at #24 R&B and #137 on the Billboard 200. The single "Give It to Me" peaked at #57 R&B, and the single "Don't Keep Wastin' My Time" peaked at #39 R&B and #90 on the Billboard Hot 100.
While this is the final studio album by Pendergrass, he released a Christmas album in 1998 and two live albums in 2002 and 2009. He also released the bulk (all but six) of his 50+ compilation albums in the years after he had stopped producing new material.
Pendergrass had a hand in writing all the tracks except for the interlude, the title track and "One in a Million You", which was a cover of the 1980 Larry Graham song of the same name.
